Boeing 767-300ER - Aer Lingus

Aircraft: XPFW Boeing 767-300ER

Status: Pending

X-plane version: 8.3+

About:
Aer Lingus' short lived Boeing 767, EI-CAL. This repaint's subject is a 767-3Y0ER (MSN 24952) first flown 22/02/1991 and delivered to Aer Lingus 19/03/1991, registered EI-CAL and named "St Aidan" / "Aodhán". She was acquired to serve on a proposed non-stop service from Dublin-Los Angeles (EIDW-KLAX) that was never launched: indeed I have found no evidence this aircraft ever flew on this route or flew to KLAX in Aer Lingus colours. Indeed, according to airfleets.net, she was already leased out to Aeromexico by 06/06/1991, re-registered XA-RWW. She also flew for Aer Aruba and TWA before being finally sold on to First Security Bank of Utah (FSBU) by 06/1996. She's still flying for Virgin Nigeria, registered as YL-LCY.

Aer Lingus acquired its first Airbus A330-301 (EI-DUB) in May, 1994 to operate on transatlantic routes from Dublin and Shannon (EINN). The last two Boeing 747's had been withdrawn from service by 1995, thus ending Aer Lingus's use of Boeing aircraft on long-haul services after almost 35 years.
